Volk Optical has launched ClearField Pro, a new lens designed for retinal examination and laser indirect ophthalmoscopy. The device combines redesigned aspheric optics, updated coatings, and a lighter design intended to support retinal visualization during diagnosis and treatment.
According to the company, ClearField Pro has an antireflective coating that provides up to 77% less reflectivity and is optimized for LED illumination as well as green, yellow, and infrared laser treatment wavelengths. Redesigned aspheric optics are intended to provide peripheral retinal detail with less image distortion.
Volk also said the lens provides visualization through small pupils and is 10% lighter than comparable lenses. A precision-milled grip is designed to improve handling, while an oleophobic topcoat resists fingerprints and oils to reduce smudging.
ClearField Pro is intended to combine retinal examination and laser treatment capabilities in a single lens. The launch adds to Volk’s portfolio of ophthalmic lenses, surgical viewing systems, and imaging products. RP
